Event and Banqueting Chef vacancy

Event and Banqueting Chef 15 - 25 hours per week

Location: Hazelwood Centre – the home of London Irish

Reports to: Head chef & performance chef and General manager

Responsible for: Kitchen staff

Hazelwood Centre is looking for an Event and Banqueting chef to join the team. The successful candidate will have a passion for cooking for events including weddings, large events up to 250 people as well as smaller business meetings. The working days will usually be Friday to Sunday inclusive.

Duties and Key Responsibilities

  • Co-ordinate the entire C&B operation reporting to the head chef
  • Develop seasonal menus for the events alongside the senior team
  • Manage your costings and wastage
  • Manage ordering
  • Work alongside the Event manager to ensure a smooth, timely delivery of our services and products
  • Maintains a clean working environment whilst on duty and follows all health and safety schedules
  • Always support safe work habits and a safe working environment.
  • Perform other duties as directed.

Person Specification

Skills and Abilities:

  • Good communication skills
  • Flexible and adaptable to the service required
  • Self-disciplined with an organised approach to tasks


  • 2 years in a Senior Chef position
  • Experience handling budgets
  • Large scale event catering
  • A professional catering or related qualification is preferable, but not mandatory

  • Approachable


Salary: £13.75 to £15 an hour dependant on experience
